Ricker’s Presents Check to MDA

Anderson, IN – Throughout the month of March, Ricker Oil showed its support for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) by raising a total of $21,895, allowing 27 children to attend the weeklong camp.

The goal was to raise enough money to send one child per store to MDA summer camp equivalent to $10,000. Ricker is proud to announce that with the help of local donations, it raised a total of $21,895, allowing 27 children to attend the weeklong camp.

Nancy Ricker, owner, presented a check to the Muscular Dystrophy Association on April 27, at the Indianapolis Marriott East conference room. As part of the presentation, the MDA’s Indiana Goodwill Ambassador family was in attendance. Their nine year-old son was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at age two. To this day there is no known cure for muscular dystrophy. The family travels around the state telling their story and educating people about muscular dystrophy.

As an added treat for the inspiration that the family has given Ricker employees, Spiderman (Ricker’s staff person in costume) was at the presentation as a special guest for the family’s son, who is an avid fan of the superhero.
