Ricker’s Helps Power Born Learning

Anderson, IN – In support of Born Learning Connection – a resource for early childhood development – Ricker Oil presented the charity with a check for $10,000.

The money is part of the BP Fueling Communities program, which provides grants to local organizations that are nominated by BP’s Branded Marketers, like Ricker’s, to support the communities in which they do business. Ricker’s was awarded a total of $30,000 to distribute to charities and other not-for-profit organizations throughout the state.

“We are grateful to BP for the opportunity to support organizations like Born Learning, which make a tangible difference in their towns,” said Jay Ricker, Chairman of Ricker Oil. “Donations such as these allow us to touch the communities where we do business in a more personal way.”

Jay and Nancy Ricker presented the donation to representatives of Born Learning earlier today.

Born Learning Connection is a service of United Way of Madison County that provides tools, resources, activities and outreach in cooperation with other community organizations and schools systems across the county to help families and caregivers provide children with appropriate developmental experiences during the first five years of life.

The remaining $20,000 was awarded to The Salvation Army and the Shepherd Community Center – a faith-based inner-city ministry operated on the near eastside of Indianapolis.
