Congressman Marlin Stutzman as “Clerk for a Day” at Ricker’s

CARMEL, In. – On Friday, May 22, Congressman Marlin Stutzman will serve as “Clerk for a Day” at Ricker’s Convenience Stores as part of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) In Store program. The special event will take place from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Ricker’s Coldwater store located at 5823 Coldwater Road in Fort Wayne.

The nationwide program affords U.S. legislators the opportunity to gain knowledge and first-hand experience of the convenience and fuel retailing industry by allowing them to work at the front counter alongside employees. The goal is for the elected officials to return to Congress with a better understanding of the industry and, consequently, be more equipped to make decisions about the legislation that greatly affects it.

Ricker’s and Nissan Team Up to Fuel Electric Cars

​INDIANAPOLIS – Ricker’s announced a new partnership with Nissan to help bring the auto manufacturers “No Charge to Charge” program to Indianapolis, providing two years of no-cost, public charging to Indianapolis-area Nissan LEAF buyers. The Indianapolis-based convenience store operator will install fast-charging stations for electric vehicles (EVs) at nine Ricker fueling stations across Central Indiana, the largest city-wide deployment of EV chargers at a chain of fueling stations in the U.S.

Indianapolis Business Journal Notes the Exciting Direction of Ricker’s New Stores

Reporter Andrea Muirragui Davis of the Indianapolis Business Journal noted the upscale direction in which Ricker’s brand is headed in her article, “Convenience chain going upscale as it plots new stores.” The article discusses Ricker’s new locations in Hamilton County and its features that help the company break the convenience store mold including made-to-order burritos, self-serve frozen yogurt and premium brewed-by-the-cup coffee.

Jay Ricker Named Chairman of The Fuels Institute

Jay Ricker, chairman and founder of Ricker Oil Co. was elected chairman of the Fuels Institute. The election took place November 20 during the Fuels Institute’s Annual Meeting and Fuels Summit in Newport Beach, CA.  Andy Viens, president of global marketing for Phillips 66 Co. (Houston, TX), was elected treasurer and Fuels Institute Executive Director John Eichberger was re-elected secretary.

The Fuels Institute, founded by NACS in 2013, is a non-profit research-oriented think tank dedicated to evaluating market issues related to vehicles and the fuels that power them. Since its founding in early 2013, it has commissioned and published feasibility studies related to several alternative fuels and examined the vehicle market and consumers perceptions of key fuels and vehicle types.

Ricker succeeds Bill Douglass, managing partner of Douglass Distributing Co. (Sherman, TX), who served as the Institute’s first chairman during its inaugural and formative first 21 months. Douglass will continue to serve on the Institute’s 11-member board of directors.

Ricker’s Extends Contract With Eby-Brown

Ricker Oil Co. has reached an agreement with wholesale distributor Eby-Brown Co. LLC for a multi-year contract renewal. Under the agreement, Eby-Brown will continue to provide service to all of Ricker’s 50 convenience stores in Indiana.

“We have found a great partner in Eby-Brown because of their commitment to growing business through their unique foodservice offerings and value add programs, like the SmartProcess. We look forward to our continued relationship,” said Quinn Ricker, president and CEO of Ricker’s.

In it’s continued effort to provide the best fueling experience possible for customers, Ricker’s is installing state-of-the-art pumps, equipped with inOvationTV, to its new central Indiana locations. The cutting-edge system will keep Ricker’s customers informed of the latest Ricker Pop and Ricker’s Rewards offers while they fill up.

Ricker’s President and CEO, Quinn Ricker said of the advanced system, “With the inOvationTV media program, we know that our customers are receiving an enhanced fueling experience and positive brand message every time they visit.”

Ricker’s Rewards Benefits Noted in The Herald Bulletin

56,000 Hoosiers have already enrolled in the Ricker’s Rewards program and more are signing up each day.
